About Yateem Group

The Yateem Group, with 5 Generations & 114 Years of Eyewear Excellence, originates from the optical chain and pharmacy established in 1910. To this day, the group has established various retail outlet brands based on optical retail outlet concepts. In addition to the strong optical portfolio of brands, the Yateem group has diversified its portfolio with divisions ranging from premium leather boutiques to real estate management. With nearly 100 outlets across the GCC, they strive for excellence in customer service and operational efficiency.

Working with such clients gives us immense pleasure, as we can see the evolution of retail technology being accepted, and as a retail IT service provider, it helps us grow more. Since 2021, we have done 4 major projects for Yateem Group. Let’s explore each one here.

Projects

1. Seamless Data Flow: API Integration with Mall Portals (UAE & Qatar)

Across multiple stores in two different countries, Yateem Opticals needed seamless sales data capture for mall management portals. Our developers crafted a robust solution using the highly stable and secure .NET. This API integration optimizes sales data capture, enhances operational efficiency, and facilitates real-time insights.

2. Data-Driven Insights: POS System Integration for sales data capture

Client Requirements: Yateem wants a service that will act as an intermediary in capturing sales data from their POS systems for multiple stores and integrating with another retail solution. The data has to be filtered based on location and dates.

Solution: To fulfill the client’s requirement, we developed a web API service. The system regularly extracts sales data from each POS system. The extracted data is formatted and prepared for consumption by the API. The API provides functionalities to filter data by location and date. The other solution interacts with the API to retrieve the filtered sales data. To ensure uninterrupted access, the entire service is hosted on Internet Information Services (IIS).

3. Streamlined Tax-Free Refunds: Planet Tax-Free POS Integration

Client Requirements: Yateem needs a comprehensive solution to streamline the tax-free refund process. They want to manage the Planet Tax-Free tag issuance for the UAE region to ensure a seamless and stress-free experience for customers. This solution should encompass several key functionalities, like
● Customized invoice design with a tax-refund tag
● Capable of handling all GCC planet requirements.
● Automatic customer data fetching by following the Planet Tax and GCC regulations.

Challenges: Integrating the passport scanner into the existing utility was our major challenge during this integration. Ensuring GCC regulations and planet tax compliance was another challenge. In-depth research and legal expert’s bits of advice could help us overcome these two challenges.
Solution: We built a custom solution to streamline Planet Tax-Free tag issuance for the UAE, ensuring compliance across the GCC region. The system automatically pushes sales data from POS systems to Planet Tax-Free in their required format using custom scripts, programs, and Planet’s APIs. This eliminates manual data entry and potential errors. Additionally, the application generates invoices with a Planet logo and a dedicated Tax Refund Tag section for a clear and user-friendly experience.
For efficient customer data capture, we integrated a Quick Scan passport scanner. This allows the application to automatically fetch customer details directly from the passport, saving time and minimizing data entry mistakes. The solution leverages SQL
databases for secure and efficient data storage and management.

4. E-invoicing in KSA- Phase 1 ZATCA integration

Client Requirements: As per the new KSA government rule, KSA businesses must integrate their POS / ERP/ billing solution into the ZATCA portal. The client has business in KSA, and they want to generate e-invoices with QR codes that are compliant with ZATCA for both B2B and B2C.
Solution: Our team completed the phase 1 integration successfully, and now Yateem can deliver lightning-fast, secure e-invoices with QR codes to their customers, reducing invoice processing delays and strengthening relationships.
